The threat of rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of the walkers at this year’s Souhegan Valley Interfaith CROP Walk, least of all the group from the First Congregational Church of Milford. Over 30 members of the church were present, either participating in the walk or helping with the refreshment stop – Stop #7 on the 6.2 mile walk. Local organizations such as Milford’s SHARE and Wilton’s Open Cupboard receive a large portion of the proceeds from the walk with the remainder being used to support the hunger-fighting efforts of Church World Service.
Just think, the funds raised here in Milford and in CROP Hunger Walks across the U.S. will make a difference in the lives of people in some 80 countries around the world -- from working with AIDS orphans in Africa, to helping indigenous peoples of South America to preserve their heritage and culture, and even assisting families across the central U.S. whose homes were flooded during this summer's unprecedented rainfall. CROP Walks truly are Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty.

The First Congregational Church can be found just a few steps from the Oval at 10 Union St., Milford, NH. Services are held each Sunday at 10am (9am during July and August) and a Contemporary Service is held the last Saturday night each month. All church facilities are wheelchair accessible, nursery care is provided during Sunday services, and Sunday School is held every Sunday from September to June for age 3 to grade 12.
