September 9 - Church School Rally Day

It was hard to believe that summer vacation was over but there they were - all of the kids dressed in their Sunday best and ready for their first day at Sunday School.  And despite the rain the First Congregational Church celebrated a very successful "Bring a Friend' Rally Day.  After the teachers were installed the kids headed off to the Parish House to meet their teachers and settle into their classrooms.  Word from the teachers was that it all went very well and things are looking up for a great year of learning.

Once Sunday School was over the kids were joined by their parents and all were treated to a pizza party. Fun and games followed the meal as everyone joined in the excitement of a new church school year.  Come join us and find out what's going on!

September 7 & 8 - 48th Annual Antique Show and Sale

The 48th Annual Antique Show and Sale continued a format that debuted in 2006 - Friday night was set up as a preview.  For a small donation guests were given an opportunity to look at all of the vendors who would be selling at the open show on Saturday.  While browsing the wares everyone was treated to homemade hors d'oeuvres and desserts.

Saturday dawned warm and sunny but that didn't prevent determined shoppers from returning to the Parish House for the sale.  Despite the heat the Antique Show and Sale committee pronounced it the 48th successful show.  Hope to see you all there next year.
